The Algorithm: I Am Not Feeding It. I Am It.

The Algorithm is the Human Algorithm track where the mirror replaces the maze. A song about tracing every output back to the person who typed the input.

The Algorithm opens with a whisper. I used to think the machine decided. I used to think the output wasn’t mine.

That is a confession, and I put it before the beat on purpose. For years I treated the feed like weather. Views came or they went. Reach climbed or it sank, and I read every swing as a verdict on me, delivered through a screen by something smarter than me.

Then I sat down and traced the pattern. The posts that died were the ones I made tired, copying a shape that worked for somebody else. The posts that moved were the ones where I said something I actually meant. The lyric came out plain because the finding was plain. What I put in is what comes back. Poor results come from a poor attack. And the correction lands right after: not poor as in bad, poor as in lost. The feed was never punishing me. It was reflecting a woman who did not know what she was sending.

A mirror, not a maze

The pre-chorus carries the whole song. Every pattern I’ve been reading was a mirror, not a maze.

A maze is a structure somebody else designed, with one exit they control. A mirror has no design at all. It shows whoever walks up. Once I heard the difference, I stopped asking the algorithm for answers and started feeding it truth instead of performance. Stopped being noise. Became signal.

Same operating system

Verse two is where the song stops being about social media. Music and code, I run them both. Same operating system underneath the growth. How I make a song is how I ship a build. How I show up in a room is how I close a deal.

I debugged my patterns like I debug my art. Traced every output back to where it starts, and every trace ended at the same address. The founder, the engineer, the woman, the MC. Different programs, one machine, me. The song is called The Algorithm, and the album is called Human Algorithm, and this verse is the seam where those two titles meet.

The reflex I have not deleted

I still refresh the numbers. Some mornings I open the app before my eyes fully open, and for a minute the old belief walks back in, the one where the machine decides. Writing this song did not remove that reflex. It gave me a faster way to catch it, and catching it is the whole practice. The bridge says the machine is only as alive as the human behind it. I wrote that line to the feed, to the AI I make music with, and mostly to myself.

I am the input and I am the prompt. The energy behind every response.

If the feed has been showing you your own reflection and calling it a ranking, step closer. Look at whose face it is.
